I have suggestions for the folks whining here ...
I was like this for few years during my Dell EMC days. Office environment was toxic. No one know the clear direction. My manager was laid off. I have to let go of few folks from my team. I had 6-7 managers in less than 2 years. Team was completely demoralized . Instead of looking out , I was gossiping and keep monitoring ZZZ list and waiting for my package. Finally one fine day on Q4 last year , I got laid off.
It took me few weeks to organize my self and enter the job market . Market is very hot and so much opportunities in new technologies Cloud , big data , AI and many more . Multiple offers . Finally I landed in a hot start up company . I am enjoying every moment of my day here so much . Every day morning , I am looking forward to go to work , to learn something new , meet exciting people, passionate to build some thing new from scratch.
So my suggestion is do not wait for your package , unless you are at the fag end of your career and planning to retire soon. If you have 5+ years of career ahead of you, sooner you get out of hell Dell , better for you . Now I feel , I wish Ieave Dell EMC as soon as my RSUs are encashed during merger. I wasted too much time in Dell EMC.
Any way don't worry too much about layoff . With right attitude , skill set , experience and your background, you will landing very quickly. Believe me . There are so much opportunities . But you should be ready first. instead of spending time here , brush up your resume , spend time in linkedin , indeed and networking with your friends.
