When I was let go I was told that I was eligible for re-hire. I had applied online for a number of Windstream positions but they went no where. Matter of fact I applied for my old position. How do I know it was my old position. I found out the hiring manager was my manager who let me go.
Does anyone know of anybody that was rehired after being let go?
You must have been a bad employee. Its ok, most bad employees do not know that they s---. Now you do know. I mean, taking you back would be easier than taking in a new hire. Move on, nothing to see here.

There aren’t federal laws protecting you - so, it would depend on local/state laws... unless you were union. And again, why would you come back?? Because earning money is better than unemployment... ??? A sh--ty job is better than no job. You can always keep hunting once you are hired back on.
I was under the impression that if you were laid off and your position reopened within a year..prior to hiring anyone the postiton had to be offered to whoever was originally let go? Seems to me if under a year you can file a complaint!
I agree with the person that asked .. why would you want to come back? If one percent raises and horrible medical benefits are your thing.. knock yourself out.
It all depends on what organization you were released from. I’ve heard they’re trying to clean out the old culture as well as save money. Don’t worry, once they believe your job functions can be automated you’ll be released anyway. Keep working, but you should be on the hunt for a new job.
I've seen others come back - but, most find new positions somewhat quickly. One guy I know was out for 6-7 months before finding a new position. I guess it depends on the position and the manager. If you got along with your manager - you should just reach out. Maybe you aren't making it through the HR hurdle.
Don't listen to people about staying away. They - apparently - don't have bills or live in an area where there are plenty of opportunity.
It depends on which separation package you were given. It's either 91 or 181 days in most cases. I would say only 1 in 10 came back when offered a chance to come back.
I know plenty in Greenville that have been layed-off an get hired back in a new group, sometimes its actually a better paying position. I do believe however if you took the buyout package you have to give it back if its within a certain time frame. Yes, this is a sinking ship, as with anything that is not dead there is always hope, not much and I feel deeply, not much, but you have to do what pays your bills. Good luck to you and hey, they paychecks are still showing up on time, so there is a ray of light in any situation, albeit a dimming one.
I figure the only people staying are either close to retirement or have a felony charge and can’t leave.
