Should be a huge cut to R&D come June. Hamer shipping, nothing else in the works for new development.
Should save the company a ton of money to give out to the shareholders. A lot less overhead as we produce current product lines until the end.

You should take special note of comments like this one. Seagate has people whose only purpose is to disparage people from posting negative comments about the company. This doesn't mean the original post is correct, but they want to shut down any discussion that might put the company in a negative light. These are the same people who write about how wonderful their life is at Seagate to discredit those who express their displeasure at what is happening internally. Ask yourself why soemone who is having such a wonderful time at Seagate is posting on this board to begin with.

Sort of doubt the immediate layoff just because HAMR is shipping. They'll still need to push for higher areal densities to keep up with WD. Probably means they won't be hiring more RD staff to replace those moving on voluntarily , however.
