Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

Why did Fidelity lay off some of the best employees?

Seriously, we lost some of the best people we had. What exactly was the thinking behind that?

I understand that their pay might have been higher than average due to their years with the company, but that pay was well earned.

Fidelity is already losing money on productivity because they are gone. Can't even imagine how bad it'll get in the long run.

This makes very little sense to me.

Hi my name is Susan Fare and I work for Spark Ideas. We are a boutique market research firm conducting a study on retirement, both voluntary and involuntary.

I am looking for a few participants that worked at Fidelity to participate in the study.

The study will be conducted using our free smartphone app LookLook and participants will receive $300 for their time. Overall time commitment will not exceed 60 minutes.

Please email me at susan@spark-nyc.com or give me a call at 516-224-4070 for details.

Thanks for your consideration!

Yep I have seen dalian site too. They have thousands of people there.

I have moved my pension out of fidelity because I do not support this idea. Fidelity s---ing my management fee and hand it to china for whatever reason(i doubt there is a pack with the china government)

It will not hurt them in shortrun but why should I pay some chinese programmer.

Personally I left on my own before getting the axe. After 15 years of dedication to that place the last 2 years I have been treated like dirt with higher expectations and more work load piled on everyday. Management expected us to work 7 days a week and if you said no you were basically told you were not dedicated enough and don't take the job seriously. What? Several have left the group and several more will, the direction this company is going in is very bad. I had some great years there and met many great people. It's just not the same company anymore. If you are not worried you should be, my advice is get out while you can.

Let me share with all of you some inside info and you can verify some if it online.

Dalian, China. Fidelity created this offshore site to maintain some of it's software that was created here to reduce expenses. I have seen first hand, and it's probably been covered up by managers what a costly mistake it was. You would not believe how many representatives that use the application have openly complained and were either let go or quit out of disgust due to the inadequacy of this 30 yr old software that they keep patching but never give it a proper rewrite, Now here is the kicker, are you ready for this one? They just let go 70% of the onshore developers, who reviewed and corrected the Dalian mistakes, and are handing it all over to China! Sure there are a couple of experts left to review and fix their mistakes but do you really thing that's what they want to do? The whole China issue is a disgrace, just ask Elon Musk. I sure as Sh!t will never trust my money and data falling into the hands of a communist Country, makes me sick that very few people even know that this is occurring, Like I said look it up and you will find some info to verify the fact.
