I predict that GE Power and Renewables will be merged in order to take out an additional HQ. Some parts of the portfolio will be sold off such as Jenbacher and Waukesha as well as Rotating Machines part of Power Conversion and Industrial Solutions which GE has already indicated they want to sell in whole or part or are in the process of selling.
The trends around both High-voltage direct-current transmission lines to move renewable wind and solar power from remote parts of the US to population centers which consume it as well as distributed grids and home solar power along with energy storage ether via batteries or water dams will be key trends GE Power will need to pivot to.
Also, for Gas/ Steam they could pivot to creating more retro packages and others for the installed base to make as is plants run more efficiently which is similar to the strategy used after the 3 mile island nuclear incident for the nuclear part of GE Power.
