Ten Terrible Things That Happen When Employees Stop Caring

https://www.forbes.com/sites/lizryan/2018/03/01/ten-terrible-things-that-happen-when-employees-stop-caring/#2ee9ae4a3a41

Do you see anything like Enbridge's culture here?

While I don't agree with 100% of the author's other work, I think she nails it this time.

Well worth the read!

BN treats all women with respect. He is an ambassador for equal opportunities to women and always shows respect for us, never shying away from expressing his support for women in roles like engineering, accounting, finance etc. He deserves our support and appreciation, not belittlement by disgraceful minions.

BN is a warrior for women's equality. I think we should give him respect than what is shown on here. You people are a disgrace

Leadership matters. AM and BN, for starters, must go.

Stop asking for people who had retired already to come back, let them enjoy the rest of their life. The circumstances back then was different than now. Back then oil was $80-$140 per barrel and now @ $60 but Canada sells them to US for a 25%-30% discount because we can’t sell to the world market. So much waste for stupid politics. And also I think it’s just a whishful thinking to actually have the ceo step down as of now because whoever is next line can’t really pay off the $60B debt in a year or somehow magically keep everything efficient. The executive management doesn’t know my name or my skills or how much I had worked my a-- to actually contribute and as far as they are concerned we are all just numbers. Who cares, I will just keep on showing up to work so I can make money so I can save some more. I really don’t have to care, I just need to show up to work until I find something better somewhere else. Don’t overthink this whole mess, it is out of your control. Don’t take it personally because no one in executive management really cares about your mental health. While you are getting mad, your management is in deep sleep every night with their millions in their bank accounts. Take care of yourself coz no one else will.

I think they should bring in a few of Enbridge’s previous leaders for a while to work with the new CEO to get things back on track. Maybe Pat and Bonnie. For at least a year.

I don’t trust the current group of leaders.

Al’s replacement will be outstanding. She just has to be!

This article resonates with me. I really hope that Al’s replacement can turn things around before it’s too late.

Don't lump all managers together. People leaders, some are clowns but some are solid good people like you and me.

Incompetent management will ruin any company, no matter how good its prospects. Universal truth.

Great story and unfortunately very simialar to Enbridge these days. My biggest frustration is we asked to think like an owner and at the same time they can not even say you have a job for another year.

How stupid to ask your employee to think like an owner where there is no defined future for their jobs. I hope they realize sooner than later.

AM must be very similar to stan. He was always angry even before that.

This is bang on. People with less than 10 years are leaving in droves and everyone else has checked out and is waiting for a package.
