Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

DXC project managers with degree in Animal Welfare, holding weekly calls

The project managers in DXC are generally coordinators who take a half baked paragraph of words from the customer agree to it and dump it on the technical teams. Some project managers have a degree in Animal Welfare

Account delivery managers have no clue of what their job is. The are just there to have a weekly call and ask is there anything to discuss in this call ?

Security officers are not qualified, know little about security and mostly women who aspire to take time off for family.

Several large accounts managed by DXC worldwide were hit by Petya, Wannacry etc. no blame on the so called security officers and no accountability. they are just there on the payroll and keep saying , just keep me in cc for all security related emails.

Several crappy account persons to manually total account spends are employed. No technical work, no co-ordination, no customer facing role, nothing. Just take the CATW hours and put it in an excel sheet to be emailed to managers once a month, and these people get a big fat salary.

there is a list being compiled for wfr, not sure if these dxc fools are part of it.

Achieving a PMP does not guarantee that such PMs will be more successful. In fact they are quite clueless in general.

I remember Mikey back in the days of CSC saying that Accenture had a lower averaged employee pay rate and that we needed to straighten things out to be like Accenture....

As usual, he was talking about employees - that is anyone but him and the L2. They were UNDER paid.

He pointed to a pear shape on a graph, presumably that was actually a picture of his a$$.

the fact is that DXC cheats its employees with low a compensation package comparable to the lowest in the industry

More a theory than a fact but I get the feeling that the PMP requirement for Senior Project Managers are just so that DXC can quote the number of certified project managers they have.

The push for AWS certified folks was the same. So DXC can say "See the number of AWS certified super duper techs we have"

Simple bragging rights. The question is does having the certification increase the compensation you are paid?

I am surprised that project managers even know how to manage projects. My experience is that they are mere task managers.

From what I hear from a colleague the PMs are forced to obtain PMI certification as PMP which in the real world, nobody uses. Very strange that DXC does not recognise Prince2 which is more widely used outside of DXC.

@bfx is absolutely correct.

I was WFRd and now contract with a top FTSE100 company in the UK. IT is a respected function within the business with minimal outsourcing. It's a grown up, professional and business delivery focussed place to work. The polar opposite eof DXC which cares only about it's own executive and shareholder's pockets

It's unfortunate that are very few people left in DXC who understand customer relationship management. But even if they did, they're not given any authority or control and most leads turn into lost opportunities anyway. The chaotic approach between sales and CRM is one to behold in DXC.

One of the things you will notice, if you're lucky enough to join a professional company is that they offshore very little, as they don't have too have those stupid daily battles with 6 levels of approval to buy petrol to go down the road to follow a lead.

I am now able to talk to IT support who fix your stuff there and then and have proper tailored windows 10 and integrated tools to ensure everyone's productivity. Even HR people who sort stuff out in the same hour - and we know HR never do things like that!

All I can say is, there is real opportunity out there, after DXC and you will be surprised just how competent leading companies can be - not having to artificially inflate a share-price just to 'look good' because that's the only one-trick pony left at the bottom of the box.

Luckily most of my colleagues left DXC before it sank below sea-level. I am just hoping the rest get the VR's they applied for in March.
