HCM-RN- My coach has been on a rampage this last week with calling out little things HCMs are doing "wrong" this week (ex; using wellness without making the time up) No it doesn't make sense, but reports are so misconstrued to Humana's favor. I try to keep up with changes, but they have changed so much recently and I feel like she's trying to make an impression with the COM. I believe they are trying to fire HCMs before having to pay severence. I know some may not agree, but this is my opinion and I feel some coaches feel they still have a chance by throwing others under the bus for their own survival. I hope the coach can sleep well at night knowing this effort won't save them from what is coming next week. I pray we all get what we want in this week's RIF.

Let's add insult to injury....my calendar arrived in the mail.
I was put on an informal right after the town hall meeting and couldn't figure out why until I was given my release yesterday, it made sense. Seems the coaches no matter how nice to your face had input into who would leave and better us than them. I have seen it all here at Humana and at this point am hoping for early release with the pay. Those who weren't let go in this round, better look around, I sure wish I had seen the writing on the wall.
I feel what you are saying. My coach harassed the hell out of me and micromanaged to the point that I was so stressed everyday. It was almost weekly that she would find something to give me a coaching for with no warning at all - just out of the blue. The rules are one thing today and something else tomorrow. The rules were bent and construed to fit the situation at hand in Humana’s favor. No matter what you did, it was never good enough. Humana definitely wants YES people, so if you have an opinion or you prefer to work where things make sense— do not bother with Humana. They do not care about their employees or their members!!
I agree with you OP my coach started coaching me on the week after the town hall meeting like WTF she was fine with me before but NOW she is coaching me. So fingers crossed between me and my coach one of us leaves cause it’s making work unbearable.
My coach has been supportive to our team as well.
I’m sorry, OP. I have a coach who has been kind, supportive and checks in with all of us often to see how we are doing with all of the stress.
I can’t imagine how stressful it must be for you.
I have a great coach, I can't believe another adult would bully and harrass another adult just because they are in a higher position. You can get a lot more from your employees if you respect them.
So the policy for wellbeing time is that it cannot be used at the beginning or end of the day. If you have a coach who is flexible consider yourself lucky bc my coach has always been by the rules.
I was in the January round of the rif-- the team I was on JUST hinted at new QA processes, even MORE micromanaged oversight... and the fb posts of former teammates is clearly showing some stress... can't leave work soon enough, etc.... I don't miss it for a minute.
Cannot imagine what ya'll are going through now-- I'm not in 'ville and it was insanely stressful here!! Please take care, everyone!!
Wellbeing time is like 1 hour a week. There are people out there trying to take an hour 3 times a week, flexing all the time. That’s what ruins it for everyone. Those abusing what we have.
Wow. Wellbeing is not supposed to be made up. My coach just has us toss it in the flex calendar and enjoy. She actually encourages us to take that and our breaks and lunches. I am sorry you are going through this
I am sorrry you’re having this experience! I am blessed with a Coach who is kind, flexible and compassionate. Of course she’s concerned about her job, too. But her concern has not changed her to someone she isn’t. It will be over soon. I, too, wish good luck to all of us.
It will be over soon for most of us. Hang in there and good luck!
OP, I think we may be on the same team. My coach has decided she wants to be the biggest hardass she can. I know she's worried about her job, but somehow the things she's saying to us are unnecessary or just out right wrong. Wellness was never meant to be made up later
I also know teams who see a 180 in the way they are managed before a layoff, so every quarter now there are threats. PIPs, new rules that didn’t exist yesterday, audits picking apart things that were just fine last week, and a negative, threatening tone to all communications.
It depends on the leader. Some are handling the stress with all of the strength, understanding and compassion they can muster under the circumstances. Some are freaking out and being awful to reports.
