DXC Layoff - I never existed!

Hi All,

I was laid off in the very first round after the creation of DXC. Official notification 4/20 although my manager did tell me a week prior to that, I think it was around the 4/10. My org had been going through constant WFR so I was not shocked. But I was VERY surprised at the new severance. Who even thought about it, we were a little over a week in and I was buried with integration work. I had 30+ years with HP/HPE and as you all know the severance package with HPE was far different. Sure, I am grateful for the 8 weeks severance I received from DXC however, of course this has also bugging me. Obviously HPE/DXC knew very well what the payouts would be if they let people go in March vs. waiting to let DXC dump them. And it feels more personal like hmmm... of course my manager knew. Couldn't you have laid me off 3 weeks ago so I got the HPE package? (And we did have a WFR in Mar)! Yes this is what companies do these days. I get that. I had to move on and honestly glad to be gone!

Fast forward... I just received my W2 from HPE and it contains all of my HPE & DXC wages and severance combined in one W2. Actually no reference to DXC at all. I guess I officially never existed in DXC!!! So my question is, isn't this a little more backup that HPE was my employer and therefore I should get HPE severance!! Does DXC even have its own tax id?

WTF! I received two separate W2s a couple days ago. I think I get why it says HP Enterprise Services (I'm assuming we are a subsidiary of DXC but not actual DXC employees - very stupid and never explained to anyone!).

Now, the total amount that I made is WRONG (too low). I also noticed that my local taxes are different on each of the W2 forms. The one is correct (1% of the earnings on the W2 [which is WRONG]) the other is short by $80.

I want to get my taxes done by mid-February but I am afraid to use either W2 since they seem to be completely WRONG!

@RxWWphD-jcs, @RxWWphD-hiv - You are likely still a CSC employee. CSC is a subsidiary of Dxc.

@RxWWphD-jcs - DxC exists as a legal entity in the US. Official legal name is DxC Technology Company and is registered in NV.

I was scheduled for layoff in March 2017. the day came and I was told it was on hold. Alas 3 weeks into April as DXC I was laid off and it was still the happiest day in my life.

I was also wondering: i don’t know about any country where dxc exists as a legal entity. It’s all some version of the HP ES + CSC. How do we then have a ticker and shares? I am not a pro but I would assume that if I buy some shares there is an actual legal entity behind that. Is this all weird or is it just the lack of my knowledge?!

And to respond to this post - it doesn’t seem fair at all. Not sure if there is anything you can do but for sure this wasn’t a fair conduct in my opinion. Well, what else could you expect from dxc. A company which doesn’t exist either. No company, no morals.

My W2 does not reference DXC either. Sounds messed up.

I was with another company... go absorb by CSC... was a CSC employee for a year... and now I am a "DXC" employee...

My paycheck today says - Computer Sciences Corp

Go figure...

You were employed by the same company before and after the merger. What changed was the parent company and the brand name.
