Any updates on the Chennai and Bangalore layoff for 3500 employees.? Is that a rumor.?
If Yes, what is the number and the respective verticals that have been impacted.?
Can someone please throw light on this.?
Thank you.
Meanwhile in Australia the payout benefits are better. Ex-EDS employees receive 3 weeks pay per year of service which maxes out at 40 weeks of pay (or 13.33 years service). Ex HP/HPE employees receive a slightly worse payout. All this is typically with 4 or 5 weeks notice period. Sorry to rub it in for North America.
India ...
WFR you all must not be in North America, all we get is a max of 6 weeks pay. Its almost not worth updating this site. But all that talk about "volunteer" to be let go, GO if you can find another job at the same pay or higher.
If not shut the F up, we in North America don't care. You all have so many days off, holiday time its just crazy. Tech's in Sweden are getting 3 - 4 weeks off at a time and then coming back and taking another holiday in a couple of weeks.
We get a max of 10- days then back to work for a month or more before we can even ask for more time off.
Sick and tired of hearing about UK redundant payouts
Well said. I just asked to be wrfd this month. If it doesn’t happen this month, I might wait till March but if no joy, I will resign. I cannot stand working in this disfunctional environment.
Yeah, I will be sorry about the money but my mental health is more important.
Why would a guy waste two years asking for something that is ot in his control and even be told to "get lost"
For those of you trying to get WFRd, my view is that is plan "B". Ask once... maybe twice, if the answer is "No" then implement Plan "A" - getting the heck out of DXC and moving on.
People... getting WFR'd is a nice to have going out the door. Sure, I would take the few dollars they would offer. But I wouldn't let that get in the way of a well though out plan.
If I need to leave during a certain time frame to move on and take a new position. I am out when I choose to, first. If I can work a WFR then cool. If not, don't waste time or energy getting them to do something that may not be in your best interest.
Also, why give them that power over you?
Just think ... receiving a WFR means that Mikey's bonus is bigger. If you are thinking of asking for a WFR in March then you have most likely missed the boat. I know of a former colleague who asked for a WFR every day for 2 years as was literally told "get lost" every day.
A better approach would be to identify a low cost resource to replace you (hint hint using a Grad?) and get your manager's approval to do handovers, etc and then make your role redundant. That way they can't argue with what is proposed.
No raises, no bonuses, reduced benefits, and a constant threat of being laid off -- all despite a billion dollars of cash in the bank, making a profit, and a good economy. DXC has created a culture that inspires no one to do anything but the absolute bare minimum.
Sitting in the office and dont do anything. Take some leave. Let your manager piss of. I am sure you will be in the list.
Having tried to use the software provided by dxc to a uk pension provider I can only say that you all deserve to be canned. Your software is a disgrace.
Was it 6 weeks before they approve it and you actually get WFRd or 6 weeks including notice period (if any - not sure which country you’re from) and you’re out of the door?
Thanks!
@1mxj You probably need to let your manager know early this month (Feb) if possible and if you guys are really that close. I gave my manager 4 weeks and he was not able to pull the WFR off for me because it was not enough time. 6 weeks may have been enough. It was HIS idea to even try for the WFR for me as I was leaving for another position.
Promises Promises Promises
WFR is the best possible solution. It will stop you mind messing with you because you are in a dysfunctional environment. Nor normal. The longer you stay the longer it will take to adjust to a new environment and all the variables associated with it. Stay positive.
I have just volunteered for redundancy. Up to my manager now what happens. I am leaving either way though.
I am actually going to try for a WFR in March. I feel comfortable enough with my manager that late February / early March I can "volunteer" and see what he can do.
Can backfire but worth a shot as I am leaving anyway. If we do the WFR, I can covertly work with the manager to train my replacement (I am not suppose to know but we had a few WFR's that were handled this way) A win-win for the company and the worker.
If not, I'll leave when I am ready. I know I couldn't give two weeks notice, maybe a week but if I have to I will resign at 4:00 and out the door at 4:01.
I don’t care if I catch a WFR or not, and that is disturbing even to me.
Ha! I wish! I WANT to be WFRd!
