I was escorted out the door with no notice . The new Level3 management decided to do a reduction in force in the typical underhanded way . I had to return to collect may personal items . Still waiting for my severance pay , they say it can take up to 30 days . The upper management will eventually make CenturyLink - Level3 a very hard place to work , moral will always be low. so much for the UNIFYING PRINCIPLES ... ha " faith and perseverance " ... out the window . they made us work very hard to quailify the divestiture fibers and then cut of my legs . Thank you Mr Story.

100s are affected. My whole team of 10 was laid off and most of us had been there over 15+ years. And the people still left will get no raise and no bonuses...centurylink became like any other fortune 100 companies that don't care about their employees. The ones left are just numbers now. They ran the company into the ground trying to be bigger and better. Mr williams is for sure rolling I'm his grave right now.
Yea, this wave of layoff was a bit different than the previous. Many people who worked there 10+ years from what I gather. Logically speaking, seniors who had been with the company would of had larger paycheck, so this was a strong evidence of reduction based on operation cost. There are a lot of telecom companies currently hiring. Wish you best of luck.
I feel your pain. I was given the news that I will be out of a job after February 23rd. I'm Legacy CenturyLink so know that it isn't just Level 3. Two weeks ago, we lost some that like you, received no notice. They were approached by HR and told to hand over their badge and they would be escorted out. Humiliating dedicated employees is now ok to do. Clarke Williams is probably rolling over in his grave at what this company has become. Our CEO is out at the end of the year for Level 3's to take over. He too got a huge bonus but something like 3 million. We found out when the media reported it. Nothing yet about the layoffs this month and over the next 4 months. I am not happy. I worked very hard, putting in many hours trying to find ways to save money. Now my hard work won't pay off because I will be out before they give those bonuses in April.
Yea but management got a BIG BONUS so all is OK....
I'm out as well with 19 years, my best wishes to all that are left.
The Truth does not need Drama. It is REALITY .
I was in National Network Field Operations . I was one off 10 people let go in the Central region of the U.S. all of us over the age of 40 , the oldest being 66. I had 300 miles of fiber optic route, 3 remote sites and worked in a Central office on the long haul equipment . I had a total 15 years not consecutive . always good yearly reviews. some outstanding. It did not matter. I even got an email from a manager that posted a field tech position that I applied for the week before I got laid off. He never called me.
sounds like troll seeking drama
