Thread regarding Denbury Resources Inc. layoffs

Saddest most depressing demotivating environment on earth

Like what I do, family is good but every day I come in and work in the saddest most depressing place. I'm so tired of hearing about all the bad, being picked over and beat down every day because of how we park, where we eat, how much paper we print on, if we drink water or coke with dinner on a trip...is this necessary after how hard we are working and how long our days are and how much we've given up already?

I would still read these if I were gone. How satisfying that would be. Relish away!

yet here you are still stalking the Denbury Layoff website even though you quit and your life is so much better.

I left before the 3rd layoffs. Best decision ever! Found better pay, and I didn't have to suffer from depression at walking past all of the empty offices. It was such a great place to be in the 6 years I worked there, but its time for people to go if they aren't happy. It's a sinking ship and there are so many great up and coming companies out there right now so if you want to find work...you better do it now before another layoff happens and you're left fighting among everyone else for a job.

Lol...wow, long post! Postive/negative, who cares. Bottom line, it's business! Take care of "you".

I get on here sometimes to see if there is something that I don't know or need to know. What I mostly find are people that describe feelings and gossip that I don't recognize. Don't give a rip about anyone's feelings especially the ones crying about how hard it is to go to work. Seriously, get a grip on what's going on in the economy. It's not just oil and gas, people getting laid off in a lot of industries. Our pay is competitive. Most I've seen leave getting paid similar amounts. As far as the gossip goes, most is just that, speculation that is always in the most negative form and much of it that doesn't come to pass. Don't know which areas you all work in but mine is humming along and doing well. Do we have questions about the future? Hell ya but will wait and see when it comes. If I were unhappy, I'd move on. Suggest those of you who aren't happy, leave. For the love of god, leave and take your negative attitude with you.

This last poster is in denial. I hope you’re still smiling when your LTI is gone. Denbury might have in the past but new leadership in all areas, it’s not the same people first attitude.

Be part of the solution to make it better. Shut down the negative talk. Overall things are not that bad. Talk to friends at other companies and they will share there are problems everywhere. But if you can’t get past it, then it may be your time to go. The negative energy brings everyone down who wants to be there. Have some faith that DRI has done the right thing for employees. History tells you that.

If it's that bad there now, for the love of god, leave. Getting laid off in August was legitimately the best thing that could have happened to me. Start looking for work now, don't believe people who tell you there's nothing outside of Denbury, and when you get that offer letter, put in your two weeks, then run and don't look back. There's happiness out there.

You must be young. Things change. When they are good they change, when they are bad they change. If you have problems dealing with the changes then move a long but I promise you you will face changes where ever you go. Maybe invest in a good therapist.
