I was let go. I can say it had nothing to do with my year end review - I met expectations. I've never had any HR related issues and my boss has never said anything but good things to and about me. I can be upset and mad at CHK but it was a job. I was looking for a job when I started working at CHK and I'll find another one. I see people asking about the severance package but it doesn't matter. If I wasn't living my life and making sure I have a plan for this to happen, I would be screwed regardless. It was a kick to the jimmy yes, but I will go on. For me personally, I'm already looking at enrolling in a Master's program and I just lost my job a few hours ago...

Keep on keeping on, don’t sweat the angry complainers on here. They were probably the sh1tbags that we’re let go. Unfortunately good workers do get caught up in the melee.
How's that Masters program workng out?
Give your severance & bonus to the poor if you had a plan for this. I doubt you have the balls or the money to do that, show us if i am wrong.
...and that is why you are AWESOME!
You. Are. AWESOME!
So true:
I can be upset and mad at CHK but it was a job
Best wishes to you. With your attitude, you will no doubt land on your feet.
Planning for the rainy days are a MUST in this industry! Unfortunately, too few realize that.

You, sir or ma'am, are a class act and exactly what we as a country need more of. Thank you for your service to the company while you were here, and thank you for your service to the industry. Resilience is the key to success. Sounds like you've got it in piles.
