Anybody knows how many people were laid off total today? We know Santa Clara and New Jersey were hit today, anywhere else? And which departments were the focus?
There is so little information about this, that this board seems like the only place where we can get some concrete info, if people are willing to share.

All of santa clara R&D is going. 1/2 in phase 1 and the other half in march. If I were a customer, I would be P/Oed as support for products will go to zero.
Sad to hear this news from Avaya, one of most stable company known from Pune. Being ex-employee of Avaya, I would like to say those affected as, Stay brave guys, market condition in Pune is really good and there are lots of openings. Keep fingers crossed.

Can someone name the people who got notification today in India? It was infact very tensed environment today in Pune.
You name a product called oceana and you will sink all the products in it.. the product does not have the features of a multi media contact center product that other products had 20 years back.... Poor Avaya.. lost many domain experts and this is impacting Avaya. I foresee only 3 years for Avaya from here... We shall be back to courts if we don't sink this oceana soon..

It's Friday. Yesterday, R&D VP reviewed overall layoff plan of Pune and might have given go ahead.
Which means, today is the most probable day for notifications.

Galway is next week expected (week of February 12th) count is 20 people.
Another round of layoffs are expected in March for people in Santa Clara. Anyone who works on an affected product who was not notified during first round of layoffs will be notified during the second round of layoffs in March. For some products the entire Development and SV work is being sent to other countries who are not prepared to receive the work.
No layoffs in Pune this week so no update on this thread.
Aura rather CM SV was with Wipro before it was moved in house. I doubt they it will be outsourced again. The costing just does not make sense. And if there is any outsourcing happening it will most probably to to TMA not Infosys.
RE HRC: the days are long gone where HRC was a factor in protecting people from layoff. These days its simply a factor of how much they can save by laying you off... period.
By the way how people are fired?
Do they get email? or reporting manager or HR manager calls them in cabin and inform about layoff???

Yeah, last I heard was 10% -15 % hit in Pune. Considering Pune employee count, the finance team will definitely require the extra time to prepare the FMP package.

I think, they might have postponed the notification date in Pune due to pending finance calculations.
In my view, we can assume that it may happen tomorrow 1st Feb or Friday 3rd Feb. And if not happen in current week then max by last working day of Feb.
If nothing happened about layoff it's good for all. I think some of us post their assumptions as information.
Seems nothing happened in pune today regarding layoff
Avaya support/services GCS in Pune was impacted last week. I am hearing product discontinuation and layoffs in R&D India sites will be announced by end of this week before arrival of R&D lead at Pune site.
Will there be any impact in India specifically at Pune?

Crazy round of layoff. Not sure what logic was applied this time while firing people. I was high relative contributor since last three consecutive years and had good amount of dependency. I worked day in and out for this company. I never thought I will be impacted. My bad, I should have invested my time in learning new technologies.
Looks like they will reduce lot of product lines including people..
