The list of companies giving out bonuses, raises, and stock to their employees grows by the day. It severely tees me off to be told 'I'm lucky to have a job' by WFT. No raise in FOUR years. I've got my resume circulating and I'm knocking on doors.

One of the problems is too much nepotism. When a "manager" moves employees from one project on which they've worked for years, to be replaced by the "manager's" sons, because the son's rigs were not going to be serviced by WFT, gives some indication of the internal issues. Just like the fall of many civilizations, the rot starts within, generally at the top, and spreads.
Easier to find a job when u have a job than when do not have one. trust me. 30 year employee. cut loose 2 years ago
I quit worrying about being laid off a long long time ago. I basically accepted fate that I would be let go. But here I am, still here.
Im not going anywhere voluntarily , oil is going back up this year. We might...MAYBE, get to keep reversing our cars into the parking lot another year. That's the bonus
Leave only if you get a better offer. If not just stay on until you do. Since WFT don’t care about you just do the bare minimum and enjoy your pay and fishing trips.
I been out over a year now, much happier and able to move on with my life. Just getting rid of the layoff fear that was a constant the last 4-5 years has been a great relief.
Move on folks it is not worth it. WFT will go down no matter what you do. Hope and prayers will not save you.
Yeah you get kind of discouraged as a low level employee after not having a raise in 4 years. Il still put in the work and will even still give full effort. But it's like being stuck on a treadmill, im not going anywhere, so il just go through the motions and collect the check when it's time. Just don't expect morale to go up until wages do.
WFT will beat the work ethic out of you.
And eventually you end up a stray until someone is kind enough to put you down. Keep milking it and be proud of it, after all you’re a Weatherford hand and your work ethic reflects the current condition of your company.
The only thing I care about is how much I can fleece the company. Dog eat dog rules ok!
One of the biggest problems WFT, folks that are just milking it.
I will concede there are some individuals that are truly working hard to make it better and turn the beast know as WFT around, however a large percentage of management is sitting back and just letting it spiral on down. Lazy POS I believe is what the rest of the industry would call them.
Good news is that for those other companies that are short of folks, there will be some quality folks coming available from WFT soon --- just make sure you vet them well less you get a POS that will do the same thing at your company until you figure it out and cut them.
Getting out is not an option we are here for the long haul to milk it to the end.
I guess cause he/she did not have a say in the matter. But, they are happy about it.
Definition of disenfranchise
transitive verb
: to deprive of a franchise, of a legal right, or of some privilege or immunity; especially : to deprive of the right to vote; disenfranchising the poor and elderly
Question: what does being deprived of the right to vote have to do with not getting a raise or a bonus? I'm just curious.
Good for you. If you are disenfranchised at WFT, then leaving is the best thing for yourself and for WFT. Life is too short to be working at a place where you are miserable.
Those of us who enjoy working here and believe the company will make it through this rough patch will continue doing what we are doing. The company is in turmoil and needs everyone to be engaged in order to get out of this mess.
Good luck on your job search and hopefully a good opportunity comes your way.
I can echo that it is better outside of WFT. Was at an industry breakfast this morning and ran into several ex-WFT hands that have left the company anywhere from 6 years ago to as recent as this month - common statement from all was, "how the hell did we put up with that sh*t for so long."
If you're still with them and happy, more power to you. If you're not happy, best thing you can do is look for a new job while they are paying you and get out while there is opportunity. Call upon those that you know have already left and landed somewhere you would be surprised at how willing they are to help out.
I’m out of WFT and I can tell you things are better out here. I see several ex WFT managers getting director jobs at better companies.
