In my store positions were eliminated and I heard one is coming back. Talk about desperate pay cut and more work why would you ever come back for a downgrade is my big question?

Store manager is the same exact way expects all the work to get done, but now having bodies gone how is the work going to get done since my SM doesn't want to step up his game he wants everyone else to, but not him.

Sears people welcome to what Kmart people have been dealing with for the last 2 years. Just the beginning, more to come

Just curious as why this ia t news worthy. I've googled for 3 days now and only find this site of any use.

We lost our best ft cac, HI ASM so far. But we gained a lead.

Other stores in my area did not fair too well. Don't know how they'll operate day to day with no OPS, no cac lead and a young inexperienced staff...

Anyone want to start a pool for Final Sears Days?

Backroom lead here. Was laid off this afternoon. I was given one week severance (35 hours pay) due to being in the position just over a year. AFAIK I was the only one laid off today at my location (I don't know of any other position that would be eliminated, since it's just me, the hardlines zone supervisor and the store manager, and bare minimum staffing in hardlines, softlines, office and backroom).

Sat down with the store manager this afternoon. Before I even sat down I told her that my position was being eliminated. She asked how I knew, I told her that word gets around and I knew this was coming for months. I handed her my keys, my discount card, said adios and walked out of the store.

I was actually in a good mood today, despite being laid off. I'm not surprised at all, in fact I'd be surprised if I still didnt get cut since I've been following this site for the last month or two (the softlines zone supervisor told me about it before she left). I'm glad Sears and their ridiculous BS is all behind me. Funny thing is that I was going to put my notice in on February 2nd, so it is perfect timing.

Off to greener pastures. Peace out!

@Rqb8HVB-kfv What the actual f.... Now this is the type of worker that needs to get fired how is it possible she does her own schedule and puts herself hours before store opening. Along with getting OT. If I ever went one damn minute OT I would get yelled at. They rather leave my department alone than give me OT.

This is where the firing should start get rid of people like that and to be with the company for 30 years just plain wow.

We lost two ASM on the spot and backroom lead as well. All three got fired (they wanted to keep it under low, but everyone was talking about it so it all spilled tonight). The kicker is their is still one remaining firing that is unknown, I am going to say it might be the last remaining ASM, the person in charge of AP or softlines lead are the ones that I think are the 4th. This is just plain savage how badly they are firing all this loyal workers that really never saw it coming.

I just hope more if the people that worship Eddie and the company open their eyes. Sears doesn't care about anyone, but the top tier workers. The three that got fired were such loyal Sears and they get treated like this getting fired so sudden. Just sad and depressing.

Hardlines ASM and Ops ASM are gone in my store. Only ASM left is Softlines (stated because Softlines did more than 2.2m last year) Hardlines ASM and Ops ASM were told to re apply for the zone positions on February 2nd. Fine Jewelry Lead, Footware Lead and Backroom Lead gone. Offered TPP (similar to severance) but is maxed out at 8 weeks.

Our store somehow made it through today with no cuts or changes.....A "stay of execution" so to speak.....and simply delaying the inevitable.

I am looking for another job as full timers at Sears apparently have a big target painted on our backs and we fulltimers are an endangered species at this company.

@tqn- since you want attention, I’ll give you some.

If you believe there will be any trace of SHC stores left within the next few years, you’re not paying attention. Anyone who is still working for SHC is taking a risk at this point.

So go ahead and keep thinking the select few stores that are making money are going to save the majority of the stores that are not.

Be smart. Find a different place to work.

Feel for the jewelry lead with the 30+ years. Ours has been milking it since Day 1 and I wouldn't be sad to see her go. She has given herself a generous schedule including 2 or 3 overtime hours each week. She is supposedly in the store 3 hours before the jewelry counter opens. When she's actually there, she's playing on her phone but getting paid. She hides around the store and has to be called to the counter.

We added one ASM, commission increase explained to appliance sales staff. Lots of smiling faces.

Reason it’s so quiet is most of the posts the last few days are just someone’s idea of a sick joke.

(Watch how they will all suddenly attack me after being silent all day)

My SGM said he is printing offf the packages, in my opinion this should have already been done, they are dragging this out so they have us around longer because the SGM's are lazy and won't help out on the floir
