Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Another interesting article on CEO qualification: https://techspective.net/2018/01/24/5-executives-replace-brian-krzanich-intel/

Not necessarily agreed on his choice of the 5 ex-Intel executives to replace BK. These 5 old timers more or less were part of the problem. IMHO, they are not able to turn the ship either. As a high-tech company, we should lead on pushing the technology envelope, instead of focusing on cutting cost by moving to low-cost geo. The success of a high-tech company fundamentally depends on their engineering talent, from top to bottom. Our early leaders are all engineering A players: RN, GM, AG, and CB, so are our early engineers, so are the leaders of our competitors nowadays, AMD, Nvidia, Qcomm, but not our current leaders, from MCM to middle-level, or even most first-line, managers and technical leaders. Just ask around, how many of our engineering talents are from top engineering schools? As Steve Jobs said, A players bring in A players; B players bring in only C players.

None of the people mentioned in the article would be good choices to lead Intel into the future,

Look healthy on the outside intel does, but the inside and root system rotten is. Will surely collapse in the next storm. Not build it strong for future BK did.

All the king's horses and all the king's men could not put Intel back together again!

A good read, thanks for posting.

I think PG would be a good choice, but I agree the other four were part of the problem, in their own unique ways. PG would never come back, however. And the issues are so badly ingrained that you really need an outsider to reset everything. Good luck with that.
