Intel has never been the „envy of the tech industry“. OP is full of sh--. Intel was never cool or hip, but a company with a solid performance. And it still is. There are a lot of boardrooms where people wish they could have just half the revenue that Intel is making.
When people get up for as long as many at intel have been doing it become obvious to all around and outside.
