Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Are we ever going to feel safe again at Humana?

I was just wondering, does anybody think we will ever feel safe at Humana again? Or is job security a thing of the past now?

It occurred to me that I cannot remember the last time I was not stressed out over potential layoffs, and frankly, I do not see that changing any time soon.

Considering everything, I think that anybody who has a chance should move on as soon as they can.

There is no certainty in any job. Stop the entitled BS and acting like Humana owes you security. They are doing what any corporation would do. Cut parts that no longer fit into the business plan. Insurance is an ever changing beast. Want job security, become an undertaker. Where people are dying to keep you in business.

Welcome to the World. While you were sleeping the World moved on and security is no longer in the rules. From Apple farming to Zoo keeping. Someone can and will do it cheaper and better

I haven't felt safe since the first round of layoffs. It's very difficult dealing with so much uncertainty.

It's a strange time in healthcare. I have been a nurse for a long time as well, but I have never worked in such a toxic environment as this one. Its as if they don't know what they want or need. The rulers change minute to minute. Good riddance. Shaking that dust off my shoes

I did not once, EVER feel either my work or I was safe while at Humana. Either it was a micromanaging haven, manipulative, controlling, power-hungry FLL's, feeling like a minion or seeing stress, quite literally, make others keel over and leave. Toxic. Purely toxic. I can't imagine what corporate looks like right now. Quite grateful to be rid of it. Please take care of yourselves, move on, I hope you find a life you love on the other side of this.... and companies/agencies that truly value your work.

I too have been an RN for 30 years, and my first job I was part of RIF at a hospital, there were other times at an other hospital job and a home health care job where there were big RIFs. Its not just Humana, its any organization. The problem as i see it is profit oriented health care services. But that is a whole other topic.

I’ve been a RN for three decades. I have not always worked in hospitals either. Humana is the only place I’ve ever worked where I have constantly worried about a layoff.

The question is about Humana, not other companies.

Yeah because we all know every other place will guarantee your not getting RIFd (not)

They said yesterday no “planned” layoffs coming again. We have heard that before. No safety at this company
