Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

DXC is worst place to work - illiterate managers

As a fresher, I joined DXC in November 2017 in India, initially it seemed good with a large campus and lots of trees in Electronic city. We had a short induction of around a day even though it was supposed to be scheduled for 3 days.

Only after 3 days the real face of DXC was seen

worst set of managers, looks like it is their family business, not a professional org

lack of reading writing skills of manager

lack of understanding of what needs to be done by manager, he asks you to understand the work from your collegues

no proper adherence to in-time or out-time you come and time and work till the work is over

no proper transport facility after 9 pm but expectation for employee to remain safe

my manager cannot speak English clearly, he speaks half sentence in his local language

my manager cannot even write an email, he just keeps calling over the phone

the only thing I see he became a manager is because he wears full sleeves shirt everyday

however colleagues are helpful and considerate, but even they have their own limitations. My expectation from delivery manager was much higher.

really disappointing scenario after joining here. my friends who joined in Wipro for almost same salary are much happier.

I have 25 years experience in IT.

I worked for few months at DXC. I was fired by a telephone call for NO reason.

I was working 7 nights a week, 10 hours per night and ... 7 nights per week, which is ILLEGAL !!!!

Managers are Tyrants enjoying their "power" ... which says it all.

WORSE experience of my Life !!!!

Do NOT apply at DXC,

Do NOT accept a job at DXC.

If already at DXC, leave before you are kicked out by worst people in a corporate place.

AVOID AT ALL COST !!!!!!!!

It has been over a year and ignorant people (freaking workers) keep working for a company that has BAD EMPLOYEE practices and complain when they are hit.

Everyone is a threat to the manager's job security, after all what work does the manager do ? keep talking big stuff and making the engineers do more than what is due.

Move out while you can, don't wait till you are kicked out

I was actively pursued and joined before HPE became DXC. I have witnessed the lack of competent management/leadership onshore in the USA as well.

After four months, I was part of first wave of WFR. I since have pursued other opportunities and have not slowed down. My few words of advice, get out when you can before your manager realized you are a threat to his “job security”..

This explains a lot about the extremely low quality outsourced resources I had to deal with in my last year or so at HPE/DXC. Very poor English skills, a pervasive "yes man" culture, and a seemingly complete inability to think outside the box or deviate from explicit written instructions. They were absolutely maddening to work with, and it was a strange contrast from the Indian guys I worked with earlier on in my career at Hewlett-Packard who were highly professional and technically competent. I guess as the dollar amount for the position they are filling gets smaller and smaller the quality of the resource drops accordingly!

Shirt sleeves lead to instant team lead responsibility.

No adherence to time-in/out is a useful skill in preparation for middle management, where garden furniture and a barbecue becomes your office of choice.

Lack of reading/writing will certainly assist your career prospects in a Delivery Role.

Inability to write would certainly advance your career prospects in a DXC Sales or marketing role

Lack of basic numeracy and literacy is actively encouraged in a HR role.

Lack of English would suggest a role within DXC's service desk and if you can grow a 'x' dimple on your chin, then there's no telling how far you could go!

Best of luck!

We all make mistakes in our career and you realised this in just 2 months, take the next month to network with your WiPRO friends and see if they can keep a lookout for you. Having 3 months in a position on a CV might not look good, but without criticising DXC you can always say that the turnover in management -)
