Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Layoffs today.

Heard from some friends still in PS (legacy EMC) that there was a bloodbath today - a number of the "rockstars" were let go, or were told they were gonna be gone, not sure which.

I was let go back in September of last year.

define rockstars. In Dell the acknowledged rockstars are really not the type you imagined. Usually some senior directors' cousin who appears when presenting good results or giving "talks" about new exciting projects, then disappear when things turn to sh-- and when real discussions and solutioning are needed. They only lead (name only) big projects and successful activities. And they get the rewards then move on before things turn to sh--. And the next person will be blamed because people who audits in Dell are not very bright.

Mr Dell is not losing his mind. He thought money is the only enabler in this world, not motivated high driving smart engineers, but money. He is buying EMC for the tech to complete his "vision" of end to end servicing and financing. He never wanted any of the brains in EMC or Dell. Just the tech. He forgot his beloved management from both sides only know how to s--- d--k and paint pretty pictures, and has no clue how to restart a laptop.

I don't know what Dell thought they were buying EMC for so many billions.

I know what some people surrounding Michale thought - "he lost his mind .. "

I don't know what Dell thought they were buying EMC for so many billions. PS/Consulting going down the toilet, people being cut left and right while consulting sales remains unscathed. They could not sell services if they were giving it away (which they often tried to do/did....).

majority of EMC will eventually be let go. Just saying. Continue being stubborn and not change your ways to follow Dell crowd. Going to get cut. Same to Dell people who try to be different.

And the beat goes on. I don’t think Consulting/PS makes it to the end of the year.

Syms are long gone, VMAX3 is a different beast entirely.

This is the legacy EMC consulting group that got whacked so hard, too - nothing to do with core products.
