Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Untouchable Grads

I think DXC are trying to keep the grads sweets because, after all, they are supposed to replace the skilled workers which are either leaving by their own accord ('cos DXC s---s) or are being culled with the compulsory redundancies. The grads themselves are also leaving in droves which leaves nobody to fill the roles which are being slashed. Some of the grads are actually quite good, however the majority are completely f@cking useless. We have graduate project managers and they are a complete joke.

No experience of anything that is meaningful to progressing a successful project. It seems the 'Graduate Power' is part of the seemingly planned downward spiral which is core to the value of this frankenfirm company.

Obviously people are getting rich off this DXC disaster and bunging the inept and 'wet behind the ears' young ones a few quid is a planned expense which will drag the company along for a year or two. Of course losing more contracts along the way because of the ineptitude of the so called skilled grads. What a f@cking joke.

When I was WFR'd in March last year I was replaced by 3 graduates who were quite clueless. Despite a 5 week handover period that was largely wasted as only 1 graduate remains to this day. Just shows that DXC means Delivery X (by) Chimps.

On the bright side 2 months remain until I am eligible to join the sh--hole again.

I'm early career, and got the highest possible performance marks and an additional cash bonus the previous year.

Bottom line is DXC is a garbage company, and you're turning on your fellow colleagues because you're afraid. My new job is so much better it's genuinely astounding.

Get out before it's too late.

I think companies must get some sort of incentive for taking on grads.

The ironic thing is the management say they are the future but they actually say the exact same to apprentices too.

Wilson likes Scottish grads and isn’t liking the apprentice programme. He said he’s going to can apprentices and try and get Scottish grads because they are work ready, whereas the grads from other regions are not prepared for real work. Those are his words from a face to face with him.

Yes, this anger is most definitely misplaced and stinks of bitterness. Also, what a low effort attempt. Literally a copy and paste of a comment on the Monday thread complaining about graduates. You should at the very least get informed before you claim the grads are untouchable - all this does is make you look you come across as rancorous, and undermines your argument.

The graduates aren't untouchable though? Many of them have already been made redundant (50 in one go last year in the UK) and many of them are again at risk again at this very moment. Not sure where untouchable comes into that?

And let's be honest, the overall workforce isn't exactly highly skilled... That's what happens when you work for a company where you are forced to spend more time worrying about redundancy and not being trained at all. Your anger is completely misplaced.
