Anyone know any rumors about a Windstream merger in the next month? I have heard that both Fronteir and Windstream both filed paperwork with the FCC at the same time and a friend of mine at Windstream said they heard from a reliable source a rebranding was coming in February.

Maybe what constitutes as Windstream that comes out of Chapter 11 they filed just last month could merge with Frontier, but doubt it...
Any idea of what is going on today
Frontier is a mess. I worked for GTE, then Verizon, and was RIF'd by Frontier last year. Since then, 15 to 1 reverse stock split? No more dividends? Bankruptcy is certain. The upper management has no clue what they are doing. Supervisors better just keep their mouth shut and smile when they deliver the worst service possible. The former Verizon employees ran circles around the Frontier fools. Nobody at that company cares about anything. They will work you to death and they do not care. It doesn't matter how much you know as a tech or a supervisor - upper management will doom the company in the next year (max). CEO just made top 10 list of WORST CEOs! Get all of the OT you can, use up all of your sick time, make sure your dental and health insurance is used every chance you get. Get any 401K money OUT OF anything Frontier related. Pay down your credit cards. Get ready for the company to go under. Good luck :)
The rebranding that Windstream did was just on the enterprise side. They changed the logo up. Lipstick on a pig my friends.
God help you if Win tries to buy. They are horrible. Also, Windstream is in no position -- that company has been run into the ground, and they have no appreciable assets -- all of their fiber was sold to Unity. Nobody is going to acquire them, unless it's for customer base -- and they'd be getting a bunch of unhappy customers.
WV is the most valuable asset? Are you forgetting about California? And maybe the other recent acquisitions; FL and TX.
Although at this point most empoyees are hoping for a sale, i doubt any company would want take on frontiers debt load. Possibly if they broke off wv (prob still theyre most valuable asset) separate and sold.
heard from mangement that company is going in "new" direction info to come at end of this month
Is this information what you base your thoughts on? https://www.fiercetelecom.com/telecom/frontier-consolidated-and-windstream-plead-for-flexible-rural-wireless-spectrum-rules
Doesn't seem like Windstream is in a strong enough financial position to buy Frontier, due to the nearly $20B in Frontier debt and messed up / neglected business systems and processes that Frontier has yet to fix.
