the problem with that LP, is that when you sign on with mattel the paperwork has a rider that states that they can dismiss you for any reason whatsoever. yes mattel’s packages seem to have gotten progressively worse, but does that surprise anyone? look at how they’ve cut our benefits packages and increased cost on health care. the little perks that made it a fun place, like our toys have been cost reduced. give it another year and early fridays will be gone if we’re here next year.

Seems like they have progressively cut layoff packages. Unfortunately layoff packages aren’t required so you are at mercy of company - the only thing in your favor is you are signing away your right to sue. So if you aren’t happy and have a case, then don’t sign the paperwork.

Wow, I would have assumed more. When you talk about years, if you don't mind my asking- are you talking under five, more than ten? At any rate, I am very sorry. The whole thing stinks

Two paycheck severance for years of loyalty. Of course, this gesture is much appreciated - but is that a typical package for companies this size / in our region? Good luck to those who remain to bail out the sinking MAT ship.

I wonder if it's over or just the beginning. I personally will not be confident until April. A sad day, but no surprise at all. I'm certain those that were let go had done their best to prepare for the humiliating way it is executed. I think most of us could accept it for what it is, a business decision- if it could only be handled respectfully.

Oh no! I wonder who, and what areas were affected this time. I understand that this is retail, and times are not good for anyone who is in retail. Look at Macy's. However, this is AG and we are family. When one of us goes, it hurts. Thinking of all of those who lost their jobs.

Layoffs happening right now at AG

Most folks at AG only know what it's been like post Pleasant. We've had less autonomy over the past few years... Some for the better some not.

It's been a lot of tough years since EB left... I miss the years of small, consistent growth vs. what we're going though now

What's the general feeling at AG about being a Mattel subsidiary? 2018 marks the 20th anniversary of us acquiring you, and yet I always get a feeling of resentment towards your parent company from you guys, almost as if the association with Mattel was never fully embraced. Is the One Mattel policy not a good fit?
