I did not know that if you are over 50, get laid off you do not have to sign the severance agreement. I thought you had no choice. The best to you.

After close to 7 years of service, my Account Director position was eliminated at Meritain Health on 1/10/18.

Since no regional or company benchmark results are every published to measure your performance in relation to your peers, it's hard to know how Leadership arrives at these decisions. After consistently exceeding my goals each year, it leaves one befuddled.

Interestingly a younger individual who recently navigated over from Aetna was assigned most of my book of business in this transition. I'm evaluating if I should sign my severance agreement or pursue seeing an attorney since I'm over 50.

Perhaps I'm fortunate to be "released" at the beginning of the year when the job market is better than when the hatchet falls post CVS acquisition if DOJ approves it.
