GE ERIE is currently calling back people of the street but they are being told it would only be temporary.

Ukraine has just ordered 30 TE33A Evolution Series diesel freight locomotives for 2018 - 2019 and ordered 195 more TE33A locomotives over 10 years. How that effects Erie I don't know. They may need to recall people or shift most of the work to Texas.
Off the street meant they had been laid off (aka "hit the street") not that they were necessarily living on the street. They were recalled back to work ("back off the street"). Probably part of the business sell off play..
People. with recall rights are being called back.
They aren't taking new people off the road or posting on the internet, not if people have recall rights.
What happened?
Did Texas run out of cheep non-union labor to staff the Fort Worth GE Manufacturing Solutions site which has been producing at a lower cost than Erie Union Labor or did the sales team do such a great job that both sites are to capacity?
Appears like the perfect opportunity for Leadership to put another business Up For Sale while there are still customers.
Why don't they post jobs on the internet instead of taking people off the side of the road?
