Thread regarding General Electric Co. layoffs

GE didn't get my signed release form...really?

GE Benefits stopped my IEA and tuition reimbursement today claiming they didn't receive my Full Benefit Release form. I emailed the form to the email address they provided 2 days before my layoff date. Today they told me to resend the form to a different email address and a fax number.

Anybody else have this problem? Is GE going to use this excuse to wiggle out of paying the rest of my IEA and tuition reimbursement? Has anyone experienced that GE did correct the issue and resume payments once the form was received?

@1xv at least you have a local HR rep. Ours left and her position was not backfilled. Our group in Greenville was assigned to someone in Atlanta who we never see.

OP here, I sent the form to the new email address and fax number GE provided earlier in the week. Was told to check back in 24 hours. After 24 hrs was told they hadn't received or uploaded the form and I should check back the next day. The next day they claimed to still not have the form, told me not to resend it (to avoid triggering overpayments), and to check back in 72 hours.

I asked if this was a common problem, rep said the layoff paperwork was sent out to several ppl with wrong info and wouldn't provide an answer about whether the issue would be resolved. Seems like a dirty delay tactic to hang on to cash?

Has anybody had this issue jack up their IEA and tuition reimbursement? Does GE ever admit to receiving the form and reinstate payments?

Yes this seems to be a problem. I was requested to resend also something about the GE Forms e-mail address was not valid.
