Thread regarding Denbury Resources Inc. layoffs

Wow @ the response

So we announce we're selling our core properties that this company was built on on this place is silent

Let em move the yogurt machine in plano and this place lights up like Facebook.

A lot of people look at this for water cooler talk but I guess it was always just the plano b--ch and moan site.

It's funny CK says we're selling of 11 fields but "won't see any loss in plano". Lol w/e That's what's wrong with this place. The frat boy meetings didn't make this place great once. The guys keeping those C02 plants going in the middle of the night while it storming or freezing did. And they just keep their heads down and work away not knowing what tomorrow holds Much respect to those guys

Such a shame some of the best leadership and by far the best technical staff has either left , will go to another company, or take severance with the sale of the gulf coast east

Have the Heidelberg fields actually sold yet? Anyone know purchaser?

Hopefully spread you out among the other teams, there is plenty of work to be done without those fields.

What will happen to employees working these fields in Plano? My supervisor says no layoffs. Anyone know details? Many of us are beginning to worry.

they will have to give those fields away. The P&A liability alone will drive down any offer. The only way Denbury sells assets is to sell an entire region or the entire company. I suspect the present worth of those assets is minimal so they won't hurt the borrowing base too much.

Wonder how strong the rumor is that GR is buying some of the assets that's for sale. Or is that just another rumor to add to the list if potential buyers.

I don’t see how everyone can keep their jobs. But my manager says that is the Plan. Hopefully this will make the company stronger though if any of us are still working afterwards.

Better get that resume ready.

I’m still amazed someone would actually buy those properties; lots of skeletons in that closet.

We won't have a problem with head count if all the guys saying they are gonna leave actually leave.

Selling production without reducing head count doesn't make any sense. Chop-chop-chop-chop - the musical chairs start again...

Watch your language. It’s pretty sad that someone like you work for Denbury.

They will also need a CO2 source....ill give you a guess where they will buy it...

I'd like to know how this is going to work out, we are selling all of the fields that use the same Co2 supply pipeline as Heidelberg? Those fields are going to continue to need the Co2 or they won't be worth anything.

Maybe Mark Worthy will purchase the whole thing and use his Co2 source wells!

Haha. Whoever started this subject doesn't know what they are talking about. Those who know, know that this is a good sign and have been waiting for this to happen. It's a good sign. Let's keep moving forward.

Some of those assets is making money and some should've been shutdown a few years ago. But the way it seems is that it's already a buyer on the table, but the DRI way is always to keep it hush hush. I believe the field level staff will move on with whoever buys and most likely will be a better deal than a company that is in debt up to their eyeballs.

Those guys wouldn’t know where to put that CO2 if it wasn’t for those “frat” boys.

No one said anything because it’s the right decision. We are keeping any fields worth keeping. We have to many fields for our current staff. Now we MAY (probably not) have enough people to do the work needed.

Go ahead and quit! No one cares if someone posting under anonymous says they are quitting, doesn’t really mean sh--.
