So, I'm curious if any current ASMs and MMs are looking for other jobs? Pretty sure at least one ASM and one MM are at my store. Does this bode well for the company let along the individual store?

ASM here. Absolutely looking. I've heard from many MM and ASM in my district alone that are actively looking.
I'm only a part-timer, but my husband who also worked at the B&N, saw the writing on the wall and joined the military. Of course the B&N wasn't the only factor but it was something that played a part in his decision. As for me I've just finished my degree and preparing to take a certification exam to improve my chances to find employment in my field.
My coworkers are all migrating to places like Starbucks, Amazon, UPS etc. Mostly because UPS and Starbucks offer tuition assistance and reimbursement.
the reason I asked is that at least at my store, even the college part timers are starting to look elsewhere as are those of us who are not college are as well.
Yes we are. Both of the MM (including myself) and the CBDM in the store I work are both actively seeking new jobs. The titanic is sinking and I’m not gonna be the in the orchestra playing as it does.
Where should we look exactly?
There isn't one retailer that's not laying people off or hunkering down for the storm. Oh, and while looking, I discovered that the downturn isn't limited to retail, it's going on everywhere.
Of course, there are pockets which are unaffected, it's never 100% but for the most part, the economy is in a pretty serious downturn.
