COP Alaska farms out exploration

Could never find anything as COP, so why not let the real independents find the oil and gas for them.

Bloated with idiot management, many hapless facebookers, and senior brown nosers. Let's cheer them on with our "SPIRIT."

Should probably farm out the shale plays to most efficient players in Bakken, Eagleford, Delaware, Niobrara. Those operators can and, more importantly, will drill more wells than will COP. COP could get an upfront cash payment and retain an over-ride. COP would realize a revenue stream, production volumes and reserves at no CAPEX outlay. Would be commercially beneficial to all parties.

That's right, all of COP exploration has s---ed...look at the GOM and the only reason we are in the shale plays are by following other companies, who needs COP Exploration, a cow patty is worth more.

The Alaska BU, you would have thought with just one area to cover and all the "experience" they have up there they could have found something on their own after all theses years. Turns out they were just bull sh--ters whose only skill was taking company leadership and research ppl out fishing when they made their "urgent" Summer business trips up there on Company funds. Plus some of the Alaska management were too busy screwing each other, so who had time to work.

It's not any single BU's Exploration, it's all of Exploration. The corruption starts at the top and leaks incompetence downhill like a sewage plant at the top of the mountain. The only solution: cut 80% of management in this function and start over.

The majority of those Alaska "leaders" that are gone now deserved to be gone. They screwed talented people, just like some of them screwed each other. Their replacements are no better.

I was never impressed with the leadership or supervisors there. Most were incompetent and self-involved.

There were some good leaders, but of course they were pushed out or encouraged to retire.

That's an accurate picture of this Alaska office. A s***hole where most of the leaders and their sycophants should have been flushed by now and long before now.
