Dell will survive. But in what form and selling what products is the question. Dell is a company which took on the mammoth IBM in the PC business and made is mark. It is important to understand that US government orders are the major source of revenues for software and hardware. Dell has his network and contacts where it matters. Remember Michael is always in the front row in industry forums addressed by US presidents. It is sales that matter. Technology and products can be brought to fulfill the demand. Dell will not go out of business as he is part of the elite network which controls the world.

Director in Dell is a glorified manager. There are so many superflous positions. Dell can easily layoff 75% of the directors and it won't affect any product commitments.

Michael Dell is on the path towards bankruptcy because of foolish decision of buying EMC. Forget his networks and contacts even his wife will divorce him if his fiscal status nosedived.

I also found the post interesting and I agree with it. However, power is transient, it can go away in no time. Sometimes with a massive debt all network, contacts and sales disappear.

The only question is whether their management will be able to effectively direct all their low-cost technical producers. If there's limited skill in execution, their prospects will be undermined. And no director or development manager can fill in the gaps for all the people actually doing the work.

My prediction is that Dell's downfall will come from a collapse in back-end execution brought on by an increasingly global workforce that's not effectively integrated and/or skilled.

Already, the vessel is springing plenty of leaks. And they're heading into even stormier seas. Do they have enough people to bail?
