I have no idea why management has not realized my position is not needed. But I hate my job. I would prefer being fired. I sit alll day googling stuff! Give me something to do or pay me to leave!!

Sabre hires you to monitor network/internet connectivity. Isn't written in your contract?
Probably HR is looking for you... Just to be on the safe side take the podium next town hall meeting, have your Howard Dean moment and scream your lungs out "Darren will sell this!!! Joe will sell that!!!!........" Put a lot of names and verbs like "sell", "profit", "gain". Finish your BS with a strong "Yeeeeaaaah!" . I guarantee you will be fine. This worked for an EVP, it should work for you.
You need to move to Sales and Consulting. Everyone there does nothing but BS. Just learn to be shameless and you will fit it

You have screwed AS so bad that it has not yet recovered yet after two years.

If I have some Java coding I need done, but my team is too busy navigating SNOW and Rally and Jira and Crucible and charging their time in that horrible time tracking app, can I just wander up to this foozeball area and grab a couple of people as some below minimum wage code monkeys for the day?
That would be awesome.
It's not like anyone would actually need to know anything about the code or the product, it's just like digging a ditch, everyone knows how to use a shovel, everyone knows how to use a keyboard... right?!
Maybe I can get rid of my other code monkeys altogether, they are pretty expensive and are always complaining about being understaffed and overworked despite spending most of the day playing with SNOW etc instead of just coding. Then I can just use these cheap foozeball guys adhoc all the time.

I am pretty sure you are blessed based... better you go to 3rd floor multi purpose hall and play fuss ball or table as you will find many folks who have no work...or sit in play ground outside and watch some babes... Or make some friends in HR for chit chat...sabre will never fire you.. until you come out your own.. looks like you are expecting severance package...

Please go to health room or go to your car and take a nap. I have seen some ladies and gentlemen doing that.
I seen managers and even VPs(H) who have no one reporting to them. They go to meetings and latch on to bits they get from those meetings and then go and trouble the devs working on stuff even though they don't report to them.
