Well.. I was suppose to get my first severance pay check today and guess what..... don’t have it... Called 88 sears to confirm and yup definitely suppose to be in my bank. Was told I’d get a call within “48 hours”. Lawsuit?

It was a PITA to get things moving to simply get a pension going . Finally happened after 3 months and plenty of calls.
I really feel for anyone caught in this exodus .

When you accept severance you actually sign a paper waving your rights to any lawsuits FYI
For all you people giving the OP grief for saying lawsuit just take a look at what happened to Sears Canada. Pensions cut while Eddie took out 31 million dollars in dividends.
I didn't get paid either! I was told by 88 sears I I would get paid on 2/28 and case opened and will get a call by eob tomorrow. Pretty sure I won't be getting paid. S---s you have to wait 28 days to get paid when its not your fault your job got eliminated. The papers we signed says we can't sue.
lawsuit you are funny, you cant afford a delay of a few days and then you think you can afford a attorney.
Hey I get it you need the money.....but really you jump to saying a "lawsuit?" What has happened in today's world to people?
I have said this several times, get ready to fight for it! It took my HR and I several calls and emails before I got my first payment 5 weeks later and this was a year ago. Who knows how backed up they are this time around.
