Old news. But as you can see when Walmart makes cuts they make sense and there is a plan. Walmart stock up over 40% in a year. SHC makes cuts that make no sense and stock tanks 70%.

Big difference in philosophies and management.

Shipping about a hundred orders a day was the last thing they made us try to do before they announced we were closing. Think it was a jumpstart on emptying the shelves. He got no extra budget either to fill these orders.

@wmo; Not sure if this is what you're referring to, but our Kmart store actually did just get a whole bunch of huge bags of packaging peanuts. Apparently, despite our near-total inability to even deal with the relatively few store pickup orders that we get, they want to have us start shipping orders out like we did a few years ago, back when we actually had the staff to devote someone at any given time to just do those, and it was still a total disaster.

The empty plastic storage containers and out of date flavored water bottles are flying off the shelves !!!!!!!!!

Cheap stuff that takes up a lot of space is the new Kmart focus. The Kmart near me is loaded to the ceiling with plastic tubs, pillows, water bottles, e.t.c.. The strategic retail benefits are endless. They can fill the store with little investment of inventory dollars, and it's hard for people to steal, so they can save money on asset protection personnel. It doesn't take much product knowledge to understand these items, so they don't have to spend money on training. The stuff is easy to move around, so they don't have to worry about people injuring themselves unloading the trucks. Eddie Lampert is a retail genius!
