What are all the lower mid level “managers” going to do when they have to start working again and not just go to innovation retreats?

Are you referring to Mr. Fancy pants?
Maybe we wouldn’t be in this situation if one of our BIS managers wasn’t making unnecessarily large purchases from vendors in exchange for Super Bowl tickets and trips to pebble beach.
And many of the "technical experts". Perhaps during the restructuring the term can go away and be replaced with "Advisor". Still half of them need to go.
Guess u r referencing PG and the worthless group. We are innovators, blah, blah..and reducing costs and getting 30% returns.
Please “way” the merits of this post as a candidate for the 2018 “fart sniffer” presidents award
“How is that other joker on 5 able to justify the numerous cross country relos handed out like Halloween candy when it does nothing to strengthen the organization from a talent standpoint and secures certain career dead ends (literally). Just ridiculously undisciplined spending when times are dire (again).”
sniff sniff silly billy.
Dilly dilly silly billy
It’s occurred to be that at a certain point organizations grow like a chain reaction . 5 people need no it/ hr / or managers .. at 10!you need all three then for 13 one each is not enough so you hire 3 more and at 16 you need failures which pushes over limit to add a third it / h r / Manager .. next thing you know the original 5 people are still doing core work / supporting 3x others .
Add on tangential initiatives - mountain climbing ; saving water ; college recruiting ; event planning .. more
If you got really serious you probably don’t need more than 100 people in Houston and field staff if probably 20% overstaffed .
Why would guidance and SWn presentation use $60/$2.85..look at Nymex curves. Cause reality will take away the stated 30% return.
What are they going to work on when there are no more “retreats”? Figuring out who the hallway crop duster of the day is? Way will award the top “fart sniffer” with a Presidents award!
Since crude prices (ie MEL's about 58% of WTI)and natural gas prices are TANKING, what prices make APPALACHIA tank too. Take above on layoffs sounds about right.
I can think of a few managers and team leads in BIS that are going to be in for rude awakening when they can't a-- kiss their way out of a layoff.
While not uncommon to have excessive management ; I think lots of things go away ... Fayetteville of course .. but college recruiting, the whole “advance” group ; v plus solutions ; the so called “chiefs”
Do you really need two Appalachia division ... immediate reduction of managers and vp by half
It would be stunning if half the people at swn are still there by the time of the expensive Christmas party
