Bechtel closing San Francisco headquarters. Moving headquarters to Reston Virginia. Uncertain how many will be laid off. Bechtel only gives two weeks notice and no severance. Houston jobs are also moving.

Houston office is not closing. Corporate functions based on Houston are moving to Reston. Project functions for Oil, Gas & Chemicals stay in Houston.
why is this not in the news (Houston move to Reston)?
are you sure the houston office is closing? the one on post oak? that office has been there for several years. plus the oil and gas engineering hub is located in Houston. i seriously doubt bechtel will close the houston office.

It's disgusting. A lot of career Bechtel folks in SF will be tossed aside. A lot of institutional knowledge will be lost with this layoff. All to save a buck and move jobs to India.
