Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Kmart creative

Creative options to revive the brand and get a cult going around the brand is needed. If every single Kmart employee would be energized to do their all every single day to make every single dollar possible then perhaps Kmart will once again be king. Imagine if employees started campaigns to get singers to sing songs about Kmart or if their towns organized Kmart parades? We could truly change history and change the world if we could inspire a cult of Kmart. This is the 21st century and anything is possible.

Have you been in store lately? People literally bust a-- every day to complete their multitude of tasks, whether or not it falls within their job description or not. With the ever increasing shrinkage of resources associates are going above and beyond for their stores.

They've already tried getting creative. About a year ago, Kmart had a VR-equipped bus touring the country. A couple months ago, Kmart sponsored a one-off televised game show. Things no other retailer has done. But the company behind the advertising was still unappealing to the ever-shrinking number of people who live near one of their remaining stores.

"All it would take would be a good merchandise and advertising campaign to see astronomical growth"

And investment in the existing physical stores

And hiring more help (paying competitively)

And new technology

And the ability to solve for Amazon

And a bunch of new locations because so few stores means people have to go out of their way to shop at Sears/Kmart

And better top management

Anything else?

You are right. Things CAN change very quickly.

Blink and you'll miss the next batch of Kmart stores being closed.

Its not over until it's over. Things can change very very quickly. All it would take would be a good merchandise and advertising campaign to see astronomical growth. What if Kmart became the made in America store and was turning over merchandise at 3 times the current rate and twice the margin?

I'm not sure if you are 'special' or 10 years old or what, but what don't you get? Sears and Kmart is dead. There isn't going to be any investment in the company. Eddie is basically ripping the walls down of every store to get money from the copper piped and wiring. IT'S DEAD.
