I have a friend and co-worker with 23 years experience who was let go this morning. He OPENED the store that he was working at, and TRAINED most of the other receiving managers in the area. All that knowledge, skill, and experience--poof!

I think I know who you are talking about. He had been off for a serious illness and today was his first day back. He was excited last night, like a little boy the night before his first day at school.
My partner has worked at B&N 15 plus years, 12 years as a receiving manager and was laid off today. He told me 500 receiving managers country wide were being let hit.
This company will be insolvent within the year. You can't treat people like that and get away with it. Bail while you can B&N employees!
