I just heard about the massive layoff and was wondering if Children's Leads are affected by this. Please respond!

Store Manager who tendered notice effective immediately this afternoon speaking here- Don’t fool yourselves dear Kids Leads- my store lost 2 in the last 3 months (baby, graduated college) and we have been told not to replace them. Not to bang the drum of doom, but If your store is open next year, it won’t be with any lead positions intact. This round of layoffs were timed to mitigate the cost of severance in the new fiscal year. Laying off RMs during inventory season doesn’t matter if you’re closing the store. Think about it, cutting labor in the fourth quarter, lowers the costs of closing stores in the first quarter of the new fiscal. Get out! Don’t be one of the hangers on, trying to find a job after THOUSANDS of former BN workers have flooded the market. Best of luck to all...
Our medium size store hasn’t had a childrens/toys and games lead (the last one had to do it all) in over a year.
Children's lead here, my store manager said for now my job is safe. We have a smaller store and I am the sole lead but it should mean that other Children's Leads are safe as well.
We Head Cashiers were told our jobs were safe too. I would start looking, but at least wait for the severance package.
I heard Children's Lead are safe, but likely next to be cut. I would personally start looking for new employment and no longer see this job as being secure. :-(
Same here - I've heard we will be OK. I am anxious as well.
Good luck to all!!!
From what I was told, children's leads are safe for the time being.
