Looks as though the TDM NOCs will most likely will be outsourced on 2/15. WIN has been 'shopping' them for a while. Verizon is already doing some TDM NOC outsourcing.
any news about tomorrow ?
VPs we know you all are reading and keeping up with these posts. Are you all getting a power trip knowing because of all your bad decisions, many loyal hard working employees are stressed about losing their incomes. Our incomes, which are just pocket change to you or just the cost of one of your vacations.
I got cut 01-23-2017, that day my ETA went empty then within 20 minutes a text from boss to meet him at 10AM. Telegraphed that didn't they?
Remember the good ole days when all a manager had to worry about was sorting his/her fruit snacks into the right colored pile? Now they have to worry about THEIR job too??? It's too much!
Are they traveling?
I’m done with that place. Thank god
Are VPS traveling for regular meetings or would this indicate something is happening?
It’s already been rebranded.
Perhaps it is their announcement to rebrand this company....
All I know is conference rooms are Resevered in allot of locations on the 15th. We shall see.
Will this have any affect on the charlotte office? What do you all think
The new cost czar they named is deciding the layoff numbers. VPs are told to cut x amount of headcount and then have to figure out who they can afford to let go. This is his third or fourth SVP position in the past two years. Seems like they are trying to find a spot for him to succeed. You would think that would be a requirement before being promoted but not at the wonderful world of WIN.
Check your eta? They’re hiring techs here, I guess they’re not here.
Already have my resume update, contacts in order, house stocked with food, bills paid....been watching for a year. Rochester Telecom is a revolving door for these executive wolves. Choice one,EarthLink, Paetec, Global crossing, Frontier....which everone you jump to next, watch who shows up in the Director and VP levels. Self preservation is all that matters. No more are the days of work hard, grow in knowledge and person, get reward/promoted and enjoy your work. It is now a den of wolves with subtle pack hunting tendencies. Get your house in order, prepare your families, save what little money you can, stop drinking the Koolaid and get busy being the awesome employee you are elsewhere. Start your company, go to school, retire but for Goodness sakes don't wait for them to tell the truth. It's the one pice of the market they can't sell. Wolves don't eat healthy things only ripping flesh and destorying others rights to exist.......in the words of Gandalf the grey "Run you fools!!!!!!!!
Before I was laid off -- there was a meeting schedule in my ETA Direct that seemed suspicious. Sure enough -- it was my goodbye appointment. Techs, check your ETA schedule for the week..... don't be caught off guard.
Who is deciding who and how many will be cut is something I never see a solid answer on.. VP and above would be my assumption. I was told my dept was safe but that was two rounds ago.. and I got the AXE last round .. so.. anyone could be next.
Who is deciding what people are being laid off? The last lay off our Manager told us they knew nothing, it was the Director. In the past was told all decided by HR. I've lost my job several times at Windstream, seen departments walked out during the years. I have never seen it this bad or so many unhappy employees, everyone's thoughts now are not if I lose my job it's when.
You would be best to go through this board to see who is talking about what on the 15th. There is a wide range of thought. Anything from 300 to 700 for this round is what is commonly agreed on. Nothing specific on departments ... sounds more like a little from everywhere. Totals of layoffs for the year range from 1000 to 4000 to continuing till the company is bought or declares bankruptcy (And judging from the stock price that will not be long) Someone posted thought that the major cuts circle around the earnings call dates.
