Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Little to no stock

We receive shipments of tires and supplies on Fridays each week. Lately the shipments are very low. Twelve tires, All Lauflen's. A few filters and wiper blades. Battery shipments are down to a hand full. We only have about 100 batteries in the store at this point.

I am not sure why we receive a weekly truck anymore to only receive 18 tires, 3 boxes of oil filters and 2 more boxes filled with misc. Would make more sense and cut cost to do one large run either bi-monthly or monthly depending on store size.

Mostly Laufenn tires now, a few Michelins and sometimes a random Goodyear set. My store still has quite a large supply of tires though. Just not the variety it used to.

Miss those Cooper's, they were good for the price.

Same here. I don't even know why I got a truck this week . I got 5 tires this week. My tire stock room is now 50 percent lauflens. I'm guessing that hankook is the only one who will give us credit so they are loading up. Also with 4 for 100 and free install by rebate I am loosing money on every set I sell

That is somewhat concerning. Even if the center were planning to close, it would receive more stock than that. Once closed, more valuable merchandise would be moved to other stores nearby. This kind of suggests to me that regional or national stock is very low. Maybe the suppliers have cut them off, or reduced shipments. Other ACS have similar issues?

Is your auto center on Seritage's website as a property available for lease? The one at my Sears store is. I guess it's open until they find a tenant.
