Thread regarding Sears layoffs

What time is your mandatory meeting 2/11?

I’m thinking ours is 6pm-9pm

I liked at my schedule and on Sunday I’m scheduled my normal morning hours for the ad, then have to come back at 6-9

I guess it’s the best time to get everyone so it does not interfere with store open hours

@qei - so this meeting is basically telling us everything we already know? That we will be doing a LOT more for the same pay and not to expect any pay raises? That grass is green and the sky is blue?

Or will they be showing us a propaganda video à la John Moore "assuring" us that all is well in Sears land and that these changes are "very exciting" and that we should be "honored" to be able to take part in "retail excellence"?

If you work in the morning and then have to come back from 6pm - 9pm remember that is a split shift as per Sears policy. You have to sign the split shift form and they have to pay you one hour extra at minimum wage. I realize it's not that big a deal pay wise but they tried to sneak it by us last year till someone complained.

Meeting to tell everyone that the new direction is the way it will be and if you dont like it then quit. If you dont like working 10 hours of less a week, having a defined workload to do and doing everything then you can leave. If you dont like the commission cut and new structure, then leave.

Be aware if you quit, you cannot get unemployment. Make them fire you.
