Thread regarding Avaya layoffs

VP S&T is in Pune

Vice President of S&T is in Pune for 3 days. He has planned one on one skip level meetings with senior managers and managers avoiding site leads and directors. Lot of changes are expected.

Following are not just rumours but news based on ongoing activities at Pune.

Breeze will be axed. IQ, AIC development, testing will also stop. 10-15% reduction in headcount from each team. 50-60% shuffling of resources in new projects. Focus will only be development of cloud native products with AI. New talent and technical expertise will be recruited.

Very loud and clear instructions "If you cannot automate, adopt cloud and implement AI in the products, Leave!!!"

Quotation's are invited from Infosys, TMA and Capgemini for outsourcing automation testing.

Hyderabad R&D (S&T) centre will be closed.

Galway will be the new strategic location.

Agree Galway is killing Avaya, Oceana is flop it lacks in HA, Multitenancy, cloud ready, Automation, and features compared to products.

It's a big elephant in terms of man power and hardware resources.

reduce overlapping product,

Products ready for cloud.

R&D VP is heading towards Bangalore from Pune. He is not going to Hyderabad as it will be closed down. Few good performers are given option to relocate to Pune. Rest will be asked to leave.

Yes, Galway will be the strategic location to kill Avaya in the next few years. Galway killed Nortel. Galway got Avaya to chapter 11. Galway will soon bring Avaya to bankruptcy.

Wow!, Looks like actual restructuring is happening now. People who stayed back during chapter11 listening to top management are all screwed now.
