If Uniti was spun off to be a REIT, then why are they hiring techs. I don't know if the link will paste correctly, but here it is. Make sure to click "see more"

They are hiring NOC positions (to monitor fiber netwrok), field techs, and network operation techs (NT's). Plus a lot of other positions that I wouldn't see a real estate company having if they lease out their assets to others. I went back and checked, and the press releases we got back in 2014 said the REIT would have around 25 employees. Uniti has 26 job postings at this time.
Just last month I saw an article in a local paper about the county thinking about doing their own dsl. But one of the commissioners was quoted as saying "One provider he helped introduce to local businesses was Uniti Fiber". Windstream has had service in this area before through fiber hand-offs with CL providing the last mile. Example.....WS office direct connected to CL office one town over. We send CL an OC48, and they pass it through to our customer in their area as a OC48, no VLS or MPLS, etc......
So why did Uniti step in and not WS?
