We've all known this was coming for a while, but now it's finally official. Sixty folks have been laid off by Cigna in the Chicago area, and from what I'm hearing, this is just a start.
It's really sad that this is the way we started the new year, but with this company, I was an idiot for hoping for something better.
shouldn't lay off older people. Some of us need to work until we are 70 or so and I'm not kidding.
That's because this unethical company - (Cigna) can't make any money organically but only through layoffs of American workers and replacing them with offshore consultants from India either directly from India or they sponsor their Visas for three years and then hire these same consultants directly to take over our American Cigna jobs. Where is Trump when you need him? They also show their only profits directly from M&As since they can't really make money on selling their own insurance products.

They pretend to care about people but actually only care about the dollar!!!
This company is sharing American Insurance Agents and policy holders private address, personal data and banking with overseas.

These layoffs were because Cigna got out of the failing Medicaid program in IL. Nothing to do with rest of company.
I told everyone Layoffs were expected in January 2018 and let me guess they are all older individuals 50+ or maybe their years of service plus their age equal 65 or close to 65 like what happened to someone I know.
