Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

You Just Got Laid Off, Now What?

Thought this was a good article to post here, considering how many people have already been laid off and how many of us will be laid off most likely sometime this year.

Get the champagne out and celebrate. It's like winning a lottery, except you escape from Lorry and his cronies.

It's a common tactic of companies paying 401(k) match annually to drop people before the annual vesting date so they don't have to pay. I would assume that DXC is doing this also.

Lots of stuff going on - align yourself to real cloud companies or look at going client side. That's where the jobs are now.

For any of your recently WFR'd from DXC in the US I have a question: if you were investing in the DXC Matched Asset Plan (MAP) 401K did the company pay you the 50-cent on the dollar match up to 6% invested since April 2017 until your wfr date? There is a 1 year vesting rule but it's not clear when they start counting the year. Do they count time with prior employers (CSC, HPE, etc.) or does the year start in April 2017 when DXC was established? Curious to know your realities. Good luck to everyone who has recently left DXC or will be leaving in the coming year!

I doubt most people would mourn leaving this cesspool of a company - other than the paycheck of course
