Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

2018 comments for the Q

I am a so called "old dinosaur" of Q as lovingly referred to by a bunch of you whiny, immature wannabe retarded engineers and OTHER employees. With over 20+ years with Q, I have seen and experienced the glory days of Qcom. I have rode the gravy train, took profits off the table when appropriate and am now quite financially secure. Thank you QCOM and Dr. Jacobs for the glory years. As I get closer to retirement this year, it is sad to say that Qcom is now a 2nd rate company with 2nd rate people. Just about all the good, knowledgeable, productive employees have either retired or moved on to better co's. Just about all that is left in upper managerial positions are losers that have stayed around long enough as they know no one else will hire them. They got their positions through attrition. So sad,.. riding off the tailcoats and successes of those that preceded them. They know they have a good thing going here, just do enough to draw a paycheck, nothing more.. nothing less. There is no more meaningful leadership. As I've seen the company deteriorate through the years, I have no more allegiance to the Q. As I come close to retirement, I wouldn't care less of what happens to the current employees as THEY and I failed in carrying the torch and executing which was handed off to them. From an investor stand point, I hope Broadcom does acquire the Q as I will make more $$ off it's probable increased offer price.

Everything is awewome. vp approved it....also said will trim extra in 4 weeks.

It is very normal for vp's to display various options before they sign it off and that is why it got delayed.

You bunch of sorry losers! Qualcomm wouldnt be what it is today without the so called "dinosaurs". They built the company from the ground up and allowed you to have a job today. Without them there would be no Qualcomm and no paycheque for you. ungrateful losers!

Grow up

Awesome of Everything aka AoE.

Even the holiday package delivered overnight by Amazon prime was awesome. Took a bite of it and went for hiking, only at the summit of a nearby mountain .... realized ohh!!..... climbing the mountain. In reality, saw the package and left there and some shell fish took the package and left another very generous coupon at the same place, one week to Alaska includes airfare, cruise/boating, dining and lodging aaha. Again awesome,

Pope has not been elected yet, currently black smoke over Vatican. Until the white smoke people see above Vatican, for the new pope to be elected, candidates will be sent to 33 Liberty street in NY to watch a movie named Utopia. Some people outside of q, yet proximal are eager to meet the prince, but dino never met till last year aaha. Again Awesome. Hopefully white smoke will come out one day. not sure days, weeks months!!!

Such nonsense! You dinosaurs were always a condescending, tantrum throwing bunch with poor social skills.

The dinosaurs either created or allowed the current culture.... basically it's the same old "identify someone who is at fault and throw them under the bus" mentality. This makes employees afraid to take risk or try new things. You can't reinvent yourself without taking risk.

@2zew... You hit it on the nail. Way too many of them infested qcom with disgusting ghetto culture. Need more diverse folks and break the chain employment reeking of nepotism.

I'm also an old timer, well over 20 years at QCOM and looking forward to retirement. I agree, technical excellence these days has less value than butt sniffing. Long live QBS!

I'm the same as the OP, Q has changed for the worse over the years and I'm ready to cash out. If it gets the stock to $80 then sell it already.

BS... old timers don't write like this. This has all the hallmarks of a disgruntled engineer or sr engineer who think they know more than folks in higher up positions.

A Q employee of 20+ years, thanking for the glory Q days brought by Dr. Jacobs, now wishing Hock Tan can get him more money.

Haha, well, ok, yes, good idea.
