Thread regarding CVS layoffs

Store Managers??

Any news on Store Manager positions?

I've read through most of the recent threads & found nothing.

I'm eager to know if my position is being done away with.

Thanks.

You have to ask yourself why they would do away with the SM, since they are now becoming the "grunt" worker, picking up the reduced hours, and not getting any more pay for it.

2 stores for one sm is a real possibility. Been conversation of that for 2 years. And yes confirmed that there was pilots ran in multiple areas over the past year.

I have multiple confirmations that CVS is undergoing a huge re-organization on the retail side. Middle Management is getting gutted, store manager piece I can't confirm, but the re-org is happening. Pharmacy store hours have been cut nationwide, entire districts in some places. Expect to do more with even less. The CVS way.

Area/Region/District or it didn't happen. I think half these posts are made up.

My district was a pilot for the 2 stores one manager and it was a disaster! I hope, for managers sake it doesn't go that route!

Its happening company wide. A couple markets were part of a pilot testing 2 stores with one sm. It did not turn out well but it wasn't the entire market place just a handful of stores.

What area/region of the company is this happening in?

If this is really happening, why are more people not talking about it. And why are all the rumors confined to just this website. It makes no sense.

What does CVS actually consider a low-volume store under 30 under 20 under 15 a week

The group manager thing is coming. They will force lower volume store managers to step down into Team leader roles while making higher volume managers run multiple stores. They will also be cutting managers who are over an excess salary with a severance package at some point. The managers in bigger markets are safer because of rate of pay from what I am hearing. It’s gonna be a blood bath, they can preach the EL program or tout up the non existent paragon awards but it’s all make believe at this point. They want to sell off the FS and FS people are expendable. If your DM or Andy one else tells you otherwise they are flat out lying. Trust me I am a DM and I have direct knowledge.

Store managers are not safe. They are moving in the direction of assigning managers two stores to manage instead of one.

If anything you may even get more responsibility. Possibly like Walgreens where the SM manages the pharmacy as well. I'm just having trouble viewing how 1 person can compete the responsibilities of the DM and Supe without some type of store level changes.
