well somebody has to do the dirty work look deeper than what's at face value. you are better than that
It is a known given that Murthy was brought in to be BK's axe man. Board of directors didn't think BK had the heart doing his own axe work, so Murthy with little conscious was forced on BK to do the dirty work. BK's staff became contentious on how this was being handled and along with other objectionable questionable business decisions DB and SS became persona non grata. Hence the buyout for them to leave.

He is only smart enough to perform such a simple task as laying off thousands of employees. Simple, known for it, no skin off his back. He is not intelligent enough to actually make money for the company.
