Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

there are worse things in life then being WFR-ed

Don't feel sad if you get a WFR. It is only a job and be honest, not a good one. I hope to get mine too. Being in a bad job makes you sick, and sometimes it might make you so sick you start fearing for your life. It is not worth it. Hope those of you that are in the same position as I am, are able to get a severance package and get out of here as soon as possible.

worrying will never end and is not good for your health, which is a lot more important than DXC,

The DXC management does not care about it anyway.

I was laid off from DXC right after the split. I was miserable at HPE/DXC so it was a relief to be let go. I found another job in 8 weeks and couldn’t be happier. I actually work with people who enjoy coming to work and have a positive attitude. It’s amazing! Being laid off was a blessing. I haven’t missed my former a employer for one second. So glad to be out out of there!

as long as you have money saved up. the time off will be very enjoyable. then you get bored of that and get another job. then you get bored of your job and wish for time off. rinse and repeat. speaking from experience.

I am in Finance, burned out but don’t have energy for anything anymore. Not even jobsearching. All I want is to be left alone to recuperate. Cannot imagine looking for a job or even starting a new job. Brain fuzz....

to answer your question, I will not have any issues to find a new job - if I wanted to.

I get mails and calls regularly as my skills are even on the desire list of DXC.

It is just that I got so burned out in this company - that currently just thinking of work makes me sick.

I even can not imagine doing a job in IT anymore. I want to move out completely.

I'm getting emails from recruiters a couple times a week, and I've been with EDS/HP/HPE/DXC for 10 years. As long as your skills are current, you will not have any trouble finding work outside DXC.

Some would even argue that getting WFR'd is the best thing that happened to their DXC career. The thing is, the management is redundiating experienced resources and replace them with practically fresh grads. These experienced folks wont have any problems looking for a new job.

That is why I got out ie VR in the UK...Found out my health was much more important than the crap managers and b---s--- that was happening. BP and stress levels are fine now. If you do get potted, you'll see your health improve within 4 seconds of exiting the door. Better off out of that sh-- hole!

Benefits are cut to bones and workload is 24X7. Money won't worth it. You can better do contracting and make more money.

HPE always stood by a policy of lower than market salary but long term job security. Now the equation has changed. Joining DXC for a competitive salary is not worth it !

I was there too and finally got WFR'd. It was such a relief. Within three months I had a much better job with excellent benefits at a place where they truly value their employees. I enjoyed my down time and love my new job. Keep hope alive - there are great things waiting for you out there. I promise.

I am/was there too. Overworked and stressed to a point I started worrying for my health. It lasted couple of months before I realized I burned out. It all broke at one point and now they have to put up with my crap performance. Because that’s all I will be able to provide until I slowly recover. What helped was realizing my health was the most important thing. Not money, nor job. And deffinitely not Mickey mouse! If they fire me, fine. If they don’t, fine. I don’t care anymore.
